About Us

The McCune Animal Hospital was established in 1996 by Kathleen McCune, DVM and her husband,

Collin Babcock, MSSW. The doctor practiced out of her home prior to 1996 and has practiced in this area for more than 20 years.

Kathleen A. McCune, DVM

Dr. Kathleen McCune is the founder of McCune Animal Hospital. She is a 1978 graduate of the prestigious Louisiana State University. She relocated to Arkansas after practicing as the resident surgeon for a four clinic practice in New Orleans. She has recently enlarged her local practice by including a larger service area and the construction of a new Veterinary Hospital. She is an energetic entrepreneur with four boys and a large menagerie of her own dachshunds.

Juanna S. Chin, DVM

Jo Chin moved to Eureka Springs in 2007 and consults and acts as a relief veterinarian in both Arkansas and Missouri. She came to Arkansas after selling her private practice in Chicago, Illinois. She has joined our practice as Kathy's associate veterinarian and brings incredible practice

knowledge and skills to our clinic family. She has been enthusiastically welcomed by our staff.

Collin M. Babcock, MSSW

Mr. Babcock is a non-practicing psychotherapist and behaviorist. He and Dr. McCune were married just prior to opening their present location in the fall of 1996. Collin has become the primary business and practice administrator, and has authored a retail version of Veterinary Hospital Management software.

Jamie Lakey

Jamie is our anchor. She takes the best care of our pet's owners, knows the clinic inside and out and has a definite opinion on the best practice policies in the hospital. A true gal Friday, with talent and personality.

Kristi Kritz

Kristi joined us as the Kennel Manager and quickly advance through the Vet Assistant ranks to become our Chief Nurse and Veterinary Technician. She's the best, Kathy and Joe's right hand and the clinic's Mother Terresa. Did you know that Kristi and her husband built their own house?

Julie Breedlove

One tenacious lady who insisted we hire her.

She has joined us as our Kennel Manager and

brings some exotic animal experience with her. We are very excited to have her join out family.
